About MAPAC

Our Mission

The purpose of the corporation shall be to represent the interests of private attorneys within the Commonwealth of Massachusetts who accept cases to represent indigent clients from the Committee for Public Counsel Services (CPCS), or its successor, and under the Criminal Justice Act (CJA), or its successor.

The organization shall use all available lawful methods, including but not limited to public education, lobbying and advocacy to promote justice, preserve and protect the right to counsel and improve working conditions, terms of service and rates of remuneration for private counsel commensurate with their crucial role within the justice system, and to ensure the availability of effective and sufficient counsel.

The corporation shall promote communication among the various counties and the various areas of practice of its members.

Sean T. Delaney has over 30 years of experience in criminal defense across Massachusetts as a partner at Rappaport & Delaney. He has served as a bar advocate for nearly three decades and mentors newer attorneys.
